Fundie pastor: If you oppose offshore drilling, you hate America

Earlier today, James Dobson had Michael Youssef, pastor of Church of the Apostles in Atlanta and a columnist at OneNewsNow, on his daily radio show.  The conversation eventually turned to offshore drilling.  Dobson couldn't understand why poll after poll shows that Americans are against the idea.  Youssef, who originally came to this country from Egypt, suggested that those who don't want to "drill, baby, drill"don't really love America.

Well, I just think there are people who don't really love America. Let's just be blunt about it. I think that America is not primary in their thinking. I think sometimes as an immigrant who loves this country so deeply and I look and I see how people who were born in this country not only take it for granted but they literally don't care about it and they don't care about the exceptionalism, they don't care about its future. And therefore the policies are reflected, so many of those people are behind the scenes, we don't see them but they are the policymakers, they write the policy.
So let's see if we've got this right.  We don't want to see our coast destroyed, and yet we hate America?  The mind reels.  But then again, this is to be expected from a guy who once wrote that Osama had already won the war on terror.
